Ranshi Urushi Lacquer Goblet 495ml – Dishwasher-Safe Japanese Stem Glass

Long ago, lacquerware had a technique that produced a pattern resembling a tangle of threads: ranshi, meaning "disordered thread". Today, there is almost nowhere left that can do this lacquering. Nurikobo Fujii has reproduced the technique in its own unique way, and applies it to this Japanese stem glass, whose interior gleams in gold.

It is dishwasher-safe lacquer glassware. Special lacquer is applied to the back of the glass and sealed with a special dishwasher-safe coating resin. Because the lacquer sits behind the glass, the surface you touch is glass, which conventional lacquerware could not offer. The coating on the back protects the lacquered surface from scratches, and sandwiching the lacquer in the dishwasher-safe coating greatly improves its resistance to detergent and heat.

With a generous capacity of 495 ml (16.74 fl oz), it suits wine, sparkling wine, cocktails and other drinks. Choose from five colours: Burgundy, Green, Black, Lapis Lazuli Blue and White.
