Perla Wine Glass Set of 2 – Gold Leaf Lacquer Base, Dishwasher-Safe

A wine glass with a clear, elegant bowl and a foot decorated in lacquer and gold leaf. The colour and shimmering leaf on the foot glow through the glass, adding a touch of Japanese craftsmanship to your table. Each set contains two glasses in the same colour. For authentic beauty, sterling silver and gold leaf are used.

It is dishwasher-safe lacquer glassware. Special lacquer is applied to the back of the glass and sealed with a special dishwasher-safe coating resin. Because the lacquer sits behind the glass, the surface you touch is glass, which conventional lacquerware could not offer. The coating on the back protects the lacquered surface from scratches, and sandwiching the lacquer in the dishwasher-safe coating greatly improves its resistance to detergent and heat.

Choose from nine colours across three series. The Kodai ("ancient") colours are Vermilion, Jet Black, Pure White and Jet White. The Majo series combines Western tableware with Japanese urushi techniques and unique textures to create a new type of lacquerware, greatly expanding the expression of table coordination to match ever-evolving cuisine. The Metal series offers innovative shades of colour that are a rarity in lacquerware, adapting saturated coordination to the modern age.

The colours used in the world of lacquerware differ from the use of colours in other industries and have a unique colour expression. Lacquerware colours are expressed by applying several layers of different colours. Vermilion, for example, reflects the jet black beneath it, giving it a unique deep colour. The human eye tries to see the deepest and innermost colours, which is why lacquerware is described as having deep colours.
