Japanese Lacquer Glass Flat Plate – Nashiji Gold Dust, 5 Colours | Dishwasher Safe

$82.00

Japan's 'galaxy pattern' — 1,000 years of gold dust artistry, now dishwasher safe.

Nashiji ('pear skin') is one of Japan's oldest lacquer techniques: tiny flakes of gold (or silver) are scattered across wet urushi, creating a glittering field that resembles a night sky or the surface of a ripe pear. Used for centuries on samurai armor and imperial furnishings, it is now yours at the dinner table.
